Dreamboard is a secure and beautiful way to record and explore your dreams.

How does Dreamboard work?
You can use the Dreamboard web interface or the Dreamboard Mobile app to capture data about your dreams through a simple entry form, providing as much or as little information as you like and editing any dream log at any time. Over time, your dreams will be collected in your personal digital dream journal. Dreamboard aggregates your dream data over time to generate an appealing visual and statistical representation of your dreams that gives insight and helps you in better understanding yourself.

Is Dreamboard a mobile app?
Dreamboard can be used from any internet-connected web browser or through Dreamboard Mobile, a companion mobile app for iPhone and Android that enables users to use Dreamboard on the go and by their bedside.

What can people do with Dreamboard?
Dreamboard Users can record the details of their dreams such as their mood, their emotions, the colors in the dream, people, places, objects. (see: http://blog.dreamboard.com/using-dreamboard-how-to-log-a-new-dream/) Once they record a dream, users can update it later on as they recall more details of to annotate their observations.

Why should someone use Dreamboard instead of writing dreams down in a journal?
As you record more and dreams over time, you will start to see patterns in your dream activity. For example, you may identify and track recurring themes or changes in mood or recurring presence of certain symbols or certain people. You will, for example, become aware that you are dreaming mostly in red, or blue or that your dominating emotion in your dreams is Surprise or Joy or that you dream often about your college room mates.

Can Dreamboard interpret my dreams?
No. Dreamboard is a tool that, through the tracking and aggregation of dream data, using specially-tested models and algorithms, helps the dreamer make correlations and uncover possible analyses that the stereotypical cognitive frameworks and thoughts that regulate our awake activity usually do not allow.

What about privacy? Who can see my dream journal?
Your Dreamboard dream journal is completely private. At this stage, users cannot share their dreams on social networks using Dreamboard. We are evaluating ways to enable selective sharing in the future while leaving complete control and privacy in the hands of our users.

What is a dream for Dreamboard?
A dream is simply interactive information, data of various nature (somatic, olfactory, visual, tactile, kinesthetic, visceral, emotional, etc.) that combine independently, free from the perceptual filters and cognitive frameworks of the waking state, thus creating a non-stereotyped experiential dimension: the oneiric dimension. A dream can be thought of as coagulated information in which all dimensions and periods of our life are mixed, formalized in a representation that gives us different indications depending on "how" and "when" we observe them.

How was Dreamboard created?
The roots of the Dreamboard project go back to 2002, when Umberto Prunotto, an engineer, manager, and entrepreneur, began to be interested in the interplay of the conscious and the unconscious in human behavior. Umberto commissioned a study on the traceability and usefulness of oneiric information to Prof. Bruno Bara (M.D., Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, Director of the Center for Cognitive Science, Director of the Schools of Cognitive Psychotherapy of Como and Torino.) Prof. Bara and his team collaborated to design the self tracking and data processing architecture of Dreamboard.

What is Dreamboard's objective?
The goal of Dreamboard is to help people achieve their full self-actualization by providing targeted inputs to each individualthat are based on that individual's dreams analysis. Dreamboard realizes its goal by tracking dreams and extrapolating data from dreams by using different technological tools and specific models for the quantitative and qualitative analysis of the data. Dreamboard aims to provide as much insight on each person's dream data and aggregate collective dream information to gain insights into how and what different people or populations dream and how that relates to events in the conscious realm.

What does Dreamboard have to do with the Self Tracking movement?
Self-tracking is a growing phenomenon, with a number of academic teams and companies exploring how tracking sleep or physical activity with digital devices and applications can help us understand and improve our health and quality of life. We are only at the beginning of exploring the connection between sleep, dreams and the human thought process – but the tools available to monitor and study sleep patterns, like Zeo, are an inspiration to a company like ours. We can see in the very near future when our users will be able to correlate dream data with their sleep patterns as they are measured by a sleep tracking device, for example.

"I love that i can track my dreams. Thank you so much for creating this awesome app!"

"The idea of collecting and showing your dreaming trends is really brilliant and thought provoking. It's a REALLY REALLY F*CKING AWESOME feature. :D"

"The thing I like the most is that I can see the stats of my dreams."

"It is so useful and has a beautiful design."

"One of the most impressive smartphone apps that I have seen. [...] The power of this tool to investigate dream functions, including memory processing in dreams is clearly tremendous."
